2019 Borongan - Let us go Forward

It's been quite a while since my last post.

Here are some for 2019!!!

Some good news for Eastern Samar.

Sans politics, hoping to see more of these kind of news.

Our sense of community would also strengthen our sense of ownership of our province.

Community clean-up drive will awaken in us our awareness of our dependence to nature. It will also make us sensitive to our communities' needs.

Let us all hope that the budget for the people will go to the people. Progress happens not from one side only but from a lot of factors working together. It is as if the universe is aligning everything for one purpose.

Let us hope, there is no politics here. (Though smaller than the previous budget, if managed properly, it will move us forward.)

In the meantime, let us all enjoy the remaining of summer:

Place to go!

A good Day to everyone!

BORONGAN CITY, Eastern Samar, September 4 (PIA) -- More tricycle drivers are encouraged to join in the Alkansya Program of the Social Security Council (SSS) here.

SSS Provincial Manager, Atty. Oliver Menda said that at present, the office has recorded some 120 tricycle drivers as members of the SSS Alkansya Program which was launched in June this year, but as of press time, only about 65 had been issued of their SSS Cards.

In the June Program Launching, SSS encouraged the drivers to put-in a few cents to the Alkansya which was posted at the Borongan City Hall.

These tricycle drivers are members of the organization plying the route to and from the Eastern Samar State University (ESSU) campus, some 10mins. drive from the city.

However, of the 65 who were issued SSS cards, only 19 are religiously  paying their monthly dues of P312.00. Menda then, called on the drivers concerned to update their contributions in order to fully avail of the SSS benefits just like regular members.

Furthermore, Menda said that the Alkansya Program is not limited to drivers, other informal sectors can join he said, market and fish vendors for instance, he added.

Meanwhile, asked on the local compliance of Kasambahay Law, Menda informed that some 15 local employers have registered their househelps.  This is quite low, he said, but this is good enough for a start, admitting further that a massive information campaign with media, has to be conducted by SSS to achieve their desired target percentage of compliance. WRP - Lexmark's Workforce Reduction Program

Lexmark Cebu CFT Team - Clockwise from Front Right: Neil Tiempo, Angel Chan, Richard Borja, Anna Atillo, Irish Magnifico, Pelolito Aparece, Donnie Caballero, Jeri Duque, Anthony Dadubo, Eric Sioquim, Bren Espiritu.
One day more, and the list of employees included on the WRP will be announced. Three of us would be advised to leave, but one was considered to be part of the Inkjet Team which would surely go, and another one was able to transfer to another Department successfully. So it boils down to just one employee that needs to go. Can't feel the tension on the picture, but one thing I know, I am one of those who would probably go.

Can't think right now. I just want this announcement to pass. If I survive this, go on with a new perspective. If I don't, then need to implement full time our plan B.

May 31, 2012

Had been very busy and have never updated my blog since 2009. I had been thinking of updating this for a long long time but never had the drive to do it. Lately I never had the chance to go home as frequently as before, pre 2009. I went went home once on 2010 for just a few days, and then once on 2011 for several days la gihap. There are things that I want to share to all web surfers who happen to visit my blog but felt lazy about it.

By the way here is a picture when we visited Borongan on 2010:
Liliputan Beach

I think this was taken at Liliputan with my wife and my little boy.
And another picture below, for our 2011 visit. For the wedding of my cousin.

Taken at Agawan (Namatron kami)

For this year, finances had been tight and had been a challenge. Hope to go home more often with my family, maybe twice a year would be good. There is still time for 2012 but summer is over, that means that the road to Borongan would be harder.

That is all for now.
